Even though this project won't be moving forward, we're still pumped about the hard work and creativity we put into it! We were able to develop an amazing proposal that was both sensitive to the conservation area and incorporated bespoke details. We had some really positive feedback from the council bit unfortunately the sale of the land couldn't go ahead for the client.

Working with a compact site has required some simple design moves to give the perception of a larger spaces.
Floor to ceiling glazing not only externally but also internally will help make the space feel taller but also more open. The first floor overhang continues from outside to in with a level threshold so when the doors are open the room will consume this area also.

This has been an exciting infill project which has required some careful responses to a number of constraints.
This view highlights the covered outdoor area which as well as being an architectural feature allowed us to maximise the garden size whilst increasing the bedrooms upstairs.
The vaulted curved rooflights respond to the 43 degree planning requirement near the boundaries. The curve was introduced to give the added perception of loft from inside the spaces.

The development of this design was always led by proportions of the site. The long site required carefully positioned courtyards to form window aspect and allow light to flood the middle section of the house. This courtyard provides a secondary entrance where you can wash down after those sandy beach visits.

The main entrance to this new house takes advantage of the sloping site by stepping down into the middle of the building. The tactile stone becomes part of the experience as you walk down the canopied walkway. The curved glass stairwell is visible at the end of the walkway softening the composition.

Excited to share our first shot of a new build house located in the stunning location of Falmouth, Cornwall.
The design has developed by directly responding to the site conditions and creating a journey through the building. This first image shows the access through the rear lane where the day to day entrance will be. The building has been peeled away to create a canopied walkway down to the main entrance.

We have been exploring a mixture of materials on this extension. An existing Shou Sugi Ban clad outbuilding in the garden is tied back to the house. This is done by using elements of burnt timber over an oxide red öko skin GRC to introduce some colour and create a relationship with the new loft extension.

We have been using @twinmotionofficial a lot recently. It has proven to be a really useful tool to very quickly turn our 3D models into an animation with very little effort and time. Also being able to invite clients into the office to view this in Virtual Reality is a big bonus.
This project is for a small extension of the ground floor to create a study and guest bedroom to a house in Shepperton. The roof structure is exposed and extends the full width adding a canopy area for outdoor living. The canopy is punctured to allow light to pass through.
